This week the Restore 525 Class traveled to The Nest in East Charlotte. The Nest is a School that specializes in serving refugee children spiritually and academically. A lot of the children are from various countries and come to America under a wide range of conditions. Once here, they need assistance in being proficient in the English language – especially reading and writing. The Nest offers time and dedication to these Children, in which the public school system does not. The Restore team met with the teachers and students of The Nest, and have mutually decided to partner together. In this partnership, we plan on building an aquaponic system at the school to provide learning opportunities for the children. We are excited for this partnership and what it may bring!
